DSAOC Announces Partnership with iBN Sports

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -

iBN Sports Becomes Primary Internet Broadcast Provider For the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County

Multimedia Solution Intended to Help Raise Awareness About People With Down Syndrome

Foothill Ranch, Calif. – September 29, 2009 – Internet television network iBN Sports steps outside its traditional sports programming schedule to support the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County as their primary Internet provider. The partnership will provide the nonprofit organization with a multimedia solution to help raise awareness about the people and families affected by Down syndrome.

“As our official Internet broadcasting partner, iBN Sports has the technology and expertise to help us take a big step forward in replacing old myths and stereotypes about people with Down syndrome with evidence that they are more like us than they are different. They share the same hopes and dreams, likes and dislikes. They love their families, root for the home team, and cope with many of the same challenges of daily life as everyone else.” Says Lanny L. Hardy, Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County.

iBN Sports is best known for its network of sports channels. However, the broadcast platform is well suited to more than just professional and elite level athletes. The network includes other channels dedicated to high school sports, youth camps and an Abilities Channel that features elite level athletes who refuse to be limited by disabilities. The opportunity to add a channel dedicated to promoting awareness of Down syndrome fits well with the iBN Sports channel line-up, especially considering the number of professional athletes such as Albert Pujols who spend their own time supporting people affected by Down syndrome and their families.

“As a multimedia broadcast network, we are in a position to use our platform and technology to help charities in our community gain a stronger voice,” says John Mudge, CEO of iBN Sports. “When presented with an opportunity to help a the DSAOC we didn’t hesitate to offer our services.”
