On March 21st we take part in an international celebration - World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). World Down Syndrome Day is a day observed by the United Nations in order to promote a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome. This date was chosen because 3/21 represents the third copy of the 21st chromosome, which is the genetic condition known as “trisomy 21,” or “Down syndrome.”
Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with DSAOC and families. For updates and more information about World Down Syndrome Day celebrations, please visit our homepage.
